September 3, 2016:
Today, (September 3rd, 2016) the Minister of Health hosted representatives of all Regional Health Authorities in Trinidad and Tobago at a Corporate Governance Workshop. This workshop was a follow-up to the Prime Minister’s initiative on June 30, 2016 where Chairmen of all state enterprises and statutory authorities were invited to a sensitization session in Corporate
Governance at the Diplomatic Centre.
Today's workshop focused on the following:
1. What is corporate governance?
2. Components of Governance
3. Key roles and responsibilities
4. Governance framework
5. Advantages of improved governance structures
The Minister of Health expressed his appreciation to the members present for their continuing service to the nation and also conveyed his expectation that this continued exposure of the Boards to the tenets of good corporate governance, will enhance the delivery of health care to the citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.
