October 24, 2016: The Water and Sewerage Authority (‘The Authority”) advises customers in parts of North West Trinidad, served by the Maraval Water Treatment Plant who have been experiencing services interruptions and low pressures that this is as a result of the reduced production over time from wells located in the Moka Wellfield, Maraval.
These wells are in need of major rehabilitation works which will increase production significantly.
Rehabilitation works will commence on October 25th, 2016 at Moka Wells Nos. 1, 2, 3 and 5 to correct these production issues and are scheduled to be completed in 4 weeks. The works will be done on a phased basis to create as little disruption as possible but some disruption is expected.
Areas to be affected include communities between Moka and Long Circular Road including:
- Moka
- Haleland Park
- Hillsboro
- Fairways
- La Seiva
Increased trucking of water to the affected areas will be instituted for the period of the works to try as best to offset the anticipated disruption.
For further information or assistance, customers are asked to contact WASA’s Customer Call Centre toll free at 800-4420/4426.
The Authority apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks customers for their patience and understanding.
