February 6, 2017: The Ministry of Community Development, Culture and the Arts wishes to state that financial assistance was approved for Southex and Caribbean Prestige Foundation for the payment of prize money to the winners of the Chutney Soca Monarch and International Soca Monarch Competitions for Carnival 2017.
Following receipt of proposals from both organizations last year, assistance was provided through the Ministry’s Grant Funding Programme as follows:
- Southex – one million, one hundred and eighty thousand dollars ($1,180,000.00)
- Caribbean Prestige Foundation – one million, three hundred and eighty thousand dollars ($1, 380,000.00)
Representatives from both organizations will be required to sign an agreement with the Ministry, prior to receipt of this funding.
