April 3, 2017: The Trinidad and Tobago Music Company Limited (MusicTT), in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization and the Intellectual Property Office of Trinidad and Tobago, will be hosting a How to Make a Living from Music Workshop which takes place on 6th& 7th April, 2017. This workshop will explore the basic concepts of earning revenue from music including branding, artist management, intellectual property, etc. The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Ms. Frances Seignoret, and the Permanent Secretary (Ag.) of the Ministry of the Attorney General and Legal Affairs, Ms. Ingrid Seerattan, will address participants on behalf of their respective Ministries.
The How to Make a Living from Music Workshop features David Stopps, Managing Director of FML International Artist Management and International Music Business Educator and Consultant. He will educate practitioners on various areas of music business including:
- Income Streams from Copyright and Related Rights for Authors and Artists
- The Importance of Artist Management
- Building a Fan Base, Live Shows and Touring
- How to Monetize and Give an Added Value to Music via the Internet
