A story written by Michelle Loubon in the Trinidad Express today (Thursday 27 June, 2019) with the headline - “Rowley: Govt to value every parcel of land” does not accurately report comments made by the Prime Minister during his feature address at the launch of the National Local Roads/Streets Signage programme yesterday.
The first paragraph of the Express article inaccurately states the following:
“Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley said yesterday the State has embarked upon the valuation of every parcel of land in Trinidad and Tobago ….”
The Prime Minister did not at any point in his feature address indicate that the Government was conducting a land valuation exercise.
Dr Rowley did indicate that there is an ongoing programme which is meant to identify every parcel of land in the country with a unique identification for each parcel.
