March 16, 2016: Athletes, Coaches, administrators and even volunteers in Tobago all contribute to successful sporting performances on the island. The THA Sports Awards 2016 will honour those, both on the field and behind the scenes, who help to bring the island sporting glory, on April 28. Nominations for the Awards are now open, and the public is invited to submit the forms with their picks by March 24.
The categories include Primary School Athletes of the Year (Male and Female), Secondary School Athletes of the Year, Student Athletes of the Year, Sports Administrator of the Year, Coach of the Year, Sporting Official of the Year, and Sports Media Personality of the Year.
Director of Sport in the Division of Education, Youth Affairs and Sport Justin Latapy-George said other categories be adjudicated on by a committee.
Those categories are THA Sportsman of the Year, THA Sportswoman of the Year, Sporting Icon of the Year, Club of the Year and Para Athlete of the Year.
