Port of Spain: On Wednesday January 15, 2020, Minister of National Security, the Honourable Stuart R. Young M.P. received a courtesy call from Mr. Marshall Billingslea who serves as the US Department of the Treasury Assistant Secretary, heading the Office of Terrorist Financing and Financial Crimes. Minister Young took the opportunity to welcome Assistant Secretary Billingslea to Trinidad and Tobago and reiterated this country’s commitment to working together with the United States in combating threats to the region, especially in the areas of Terrorist Financing, Money Laundering and other Financial Crimes. The Assistant Treasury Secretary reaffirmed the positive bilateral relationship between Trinidad and Tobago and the United States of America. Mr. Billingslea was confirmed by the United States Senate in June, 2017 in his role as Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorist Financing. In addition to the Treasury, Mr. Billingslea’s portfolio spans multiple positions within the Departments of Defense and State, and the United States Senate. The meeting was held at the Ministry of National Security, 31-33 Abercromby Street, Port of Spain.
